Darling Downs Queensland Breeder Travis and Melissa Deans recently staged their on property Legends of Leader Sale to create a new Australian Record average for a single vendor Dairy Sale.

Sale top was Lot 1, Leader DD Satin VG 89(max). This 4 year old Dundee was backed by 4 generations of EX, had produced 12,799 litres and had won Supreme Champion at the Dairy Spectacular in 2009. She sold for $34,000 an equal Qld record price and was sold to G, C & A Peatling of Toolamba, Vic
Third top price and highest selling unjoined heifer at $27,000 was Leader Laurin Cretonne, this 11 month old daughter of the reigning Qld On-Farm Challenge 2 year old winner and backed by the famed Rockwood Park Cretonne Family was purchased by I & T Brown of Warwick Qld. Strongbark and Mandelyn Holsteins of Jamberoo, NSW joined forces to buy Leader Stormatic Super a big milking 2 year old from and EX Durham at $18,000. They also Tamrook Holsteins of Beaudesert Qld selected a few top lots including Leader Fortune Roxy (ET) VG86 with a PI of 112 at $18,000. Her dam Tamrook Star Roxy (imp Canada ET) EX91 2E completed 7 generations of EX from the World renowed Hanover Hill Roxy’s, she sold at $16.000 to Moxey Farms, Goolagong NSW. These large scale dairymen also purchased Leader Advent Satin a GP 84 milking 2 year old at $10.000. Kyogle NSW breeder Rodney Thomas selected the outstanding super dairylike cow Leader Roy Sugar VG86 backed by 3 generations of EX for $16,000 and Leader Stormatic Sacha (ET0, this heifer sold carrying an embryo from the dam of the top selling lot and was a grand daughter of the equal record priced Kindara Shotime Sonia, she was selected for $10,500. Gloucester NSW breeders G & K Forbes paid $13,000 for Leader Roylane Satin, this heifer won her class at last years Brisbane Royal.
Southern Riverina breeders Clayton Bros of Deniliquin selected the outstanding rising yearling Leader Laurin Roxy (ET) at $13,000, while her maternal sister Leader Jasper Roxy sold for $11,000 to Bevandale Holsteins of Atherton Tablelands Qld. These buyers also selected Leader Mr Sam Shanae (ET) backed by 4 generations of EX also at $11,000. Byrnebury Holsteins of Nathalia Vic paid $14,000 for Leader Damian Satiny (ET) due to Laurin and backed by 3 EX dams. T & L Northfield of Coraki, NSW paid 10,500 for Leader Hifortune Satin a 20 month heifer backed by 4 generations of EX.
