ROCHESTER SHOWGROUNDS, OCTOBER 6TH
Among a tremendous line up of elite Holsteins on auction at the North West ‘Stars of the Future’ Select Holstein Sale, it was the ten week old calf, Lot 16, Corra Lea Jasper Jean, who wowed the large crowd.
Selling on account of the Prout family of Kerang, Jasper Jean topped the sale at $9000, to Lightning Ridge Holsteins (AUS) Craig Rapley (NZ) and Malarky Farms (Canada). Jasper Jean is a direct daughter of the respected Corra Lea Progress Jean VG88, a regular winner at local shows, and sired by Wilcoxview Jasper whose progeny have created a stir across North America and Canada.
Second top price was Lot 1, at $7100, paid by Kerri Ross of Jaslana Holsteins, Bald Hills. Ingolmore Damion Gem VG85, a stunning in-milk 2 year old daughter of the 2009 Rochester Supreme Dairy Cow, Ingolmore Emory Gem EX93 2E, was sold on account of Travis and Karlee Gilmore, Durham Ox. Jaslana Holsteins is also the home for last year’s top price lot, also sold on account of the Gilmores.
Vendors Travis and Karlee Gilmore had two other submissions in the sale with both lots being grand daughters of the great Serenity Farms Skychief Tania IMP EX. Lot 31, Ingolmore Bolton Tonya sold for $6800 to S and J Cameron, Hadleigh Holsteins, of Invergordon, while Lot 34, Ingolmore Miss Tania reached $4000, selling to Brad Allott, Waltopso Holsteins, Stanhope.
